Here at Cakes by Louisa Marie, I believe in making your celebration truly special with a bespoke, handmade cake. I've compiled some of the most common questions to help guide you through the process, from initial inquiry to enjoying your delicious creation. What are the main things that affect the price of your cakes, and do you require a deposit?

Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure your order. The main factors affecting the price of my cakes are the coverings used, the chosen flavours, and the level of detail and intricate decoration. 

What are the questions you hear most often from customers when they're ordering a cake?

Ordering and customisation:

  • How far in advance should I order? I require 3 weeks' notice for standard cakes. Wedding cakes typically require at least 3 months' notice, but the more notice you can give, the better! If you are unable to give 3 months, please contact anyway as occasionally I do have capacity to take the order. 
  • 3 weeks is usually my minimum order time. But contact me anyway. If I have capacity I maybe able to do your order. 
  • Can I customise my design? Yes, absolutely! Please note that prices will vary depending on the complexity of the design.
  • Do you offer tastings? Yes, especially for wedding cakes, to help you select your favourite flavours. There will be a £25 non-refundable cost for tastings.
  • Do you make gluten-free or vegan cakes? No, due to me being a small home-based business , I can not guarantee there would not be any cross over of allergens.  Sorry for this. 
  • How do I pay? A deposit of 50% is required to confirm your booking. This can be paid through bank transfer.  

Delivery and collection:

  • Do you deliver? Yes, I do. Delivery charges are available on request.  Free delivery on cakes over £100 up to 10 miles out side L20.
